Personal care and body art business

Under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 your business must be registered with Council's Health and Building Services team if you provide the following:

  • hairdressing
  • beauty treatment, including waxing, manicures, pedicures, application or mending of artificial nails, facial or body treatment, application of cosmetics
  • skin penetration procedures, including ear piercing, body piercing, electrolysis, tattooing
  • colonic irrigation.

As part of our response to Covid-19 Council is charging 50% of the full Renewal of Registration fees for all premises registered under the Food Act and the Public Health and Wellbeing Act for the registration period 1 January to 31 December 2022.

Registration renewals will be issued in November, the fee on the application form will include the 50% reduction.  You are required to review, sign and return the registration with the fee in order for your Certificate of Registration 2022 to be issued.
