Food relief

We have a number of local agencies that can provide food parcels, grocery vouchers or meals for people who are experiencing hardship.

CatholicCare

CatholicCare provides free financial and/or material aid for struggling families and individuals, who are experiencing a financial crisis.

A phone appointment must be made to access Emergency Relief.  When you call please make sure you have with you some form of personal identification, and, any paperwork / bills that you require support with.

Earth Village Café

Earth Village Café provides a free meal, bread and fruit & vegetables to community members in need.
Earth Village Café staff may ask to see a Medicare Card to verify the number of people in your family.

Khalsa Shaouni Inc. - Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Ji Temple

Khalsa Shaouni are able to provide cooked meals for those in need.
Please ring to confirm attendance to eat in, or meals can be delivered.
Able to provide Vegetarian, Punjabi or Indian meals.

Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation

Food hampers are available every 2nd week for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or those raising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Must contact Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation by Monday to arrange for pick up of a food hamper on the Wednesday.

Melton Combined Churches Caring

Melton Combined Churches Caring offer free food to those in need, with strict eligibility criteria in place to ensure they are able to provide to as many people as possible.  City of Melton residents can access the foodbank twice per year.  If requiring more frequent visits residents must attend a budget education program.
When attending two (2) forms of ID are required.

Melton South Community Centre/ ADRA Community Care

Food parcels are available every Friday.  In order to access the service you must be a resident of the City of Melton, and hold a current Centrelink concession or health care card.
A $3 donation is required in order to cover the cost of food supplies.  Please bring your own carry bag where possible.
