Australia Day

Our annual Australia Day celebrations will feature live entertainment followed by a formal flag raising ceremony, Welcome to Country, recognition of the 2019 Community Achievement Awards winners, an address from the City of Melton Australia Day Ambassador, and concluding with the citizenship ceremony.

Activities include:

  • Live entertainment by the Music Box Trio
  • Free BBQ, coffee and ANZAC biscuits
  • Henna, dingoes and face painting
  • Bunnings and Melton Men’s Shed kids’ activities

2019 Community Achievement Awards

Each year, the Melton City Council proudly salutes, through the Community Achievement Awards, members of the community whose work and efforts make this region an even better place to live.

For 2019 Community Achievement Awards we have five categories, two of them namely, Intercultural Leader of the Year and Gender Equity Leader of the Year are new categories introduced this year.

The Winners for each category were chosen in November and will be our special guests for 2019 Australia Day. Join us to congratulate the winners:

  • Citizen of the Year: Maureen Mohr
  • Young Citizen of the Year: Brandon Rogers and Emily Attard
  • Access and inclusion Leader of the Year: Shalini Ashika Kumar
  • Gender Equity Leader of the Year: Tiff Lykke
