Community consultation
Residents, alongside other stakeholders, were invited to participate in community consultation during May 2024. Feedback was sought on the Centre’s design themes, the importance of individual services and facilities and how the community see themselves using the Centre.
Council approved the masterplan at its meeting on 22 July 2024, with the following additional features included based on the consultation:
- A multipurpose/events space and rooftop deck
- An additional second program pool for learn to swim and aqua aerobics
- Refinement of the aquatic sensory space layout
- Relocation of the gym to the ground floor and group fitness to the first floor
- Increased car parking.
Following the masterplan approval, schematic designs will be now developed with construction expected to commence in late 2025 and set to open in 2028.
