Council will provide a facility that will deliver for the needs of our tenants and their clients through a purpose-built, targeting a Green Star Building rating in the City of Melton, with space available for community services and commercial organisations at competitive commercial rates.

The Cobblebank Community Services Hub will be located in the Cobblebank Metropolitan Activity Centre, a thriving new urban precinct in Melbourne’s west with the new Cobblebank Train Station, Cobblebank Stadium, the coming Melton Hospital and a significant retail and entertainment precinct at its heart.

The Hub will provide a range of community services and private/commercial providers to meet the needs of our growing community and the broader region.

The Hub will provide an accessible space to deliver a range of important services like mental health, disability, refugee and family support services, as well as culturally specific services for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally diverse communities.

Cobblebank Community Services Hub - Construction Update

June 2025

The City of Melton is proud to have awarded Kane Constructions as the Head Contractor for the Cobblebank Community Services Hub project. We’re excited to announce that construction is now officially underway.

Key activities on site for the month of June 2025:

  • Site setup completed
  • Ground prepared for foundation work: The area where the foundations will be installed has been carefully prepared, tested, and approved for use.
  • Heavy equipment delivered: The large drilling machine (called a piling rig) has arrived on site.
  • Foundation drilling and concrete work underway: Drilling into the ground to install deep foundation supports (piles) has begun, along with the pouring of concrete.
  • Excess soil removal started: Soil removed during drilling has been inspected and is now being safely transported offsite for disposal.

What’s coming up next:

  • Foundation work continues: The piling process will make significant progress as more deep foundation supports are completed.
  • Underground services installation begins: Work will start on installing important underground infrastructure like pipes and cables.
  • Capping beam construction starts: A concrete beam will be built across the tops of the piles to connect them and prepare for the next stage of building.
