'Make Your Move' dance competition

'Make Your Move' is a high-energy dance competition giving young people the opportunity to showcase their skills, represent their school or crew, and hype up their friends in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

Solo dancers, duos, and crews are all welcome, with any dance style encouraged—including hip hop, cultural, contemporary, freestyle, and more.

When:   Friday, 19 December 2025
Where:  Melton Youth Centre, 193 Barries Road, Melton 
Time:     5pm - 8pm 
Age:       Young people aged 12-25 years 

'Make Your Move' provides a positive platform for young people to express themselves through dance, build confidence and celebrate local talent, encourage community connection and peer support and promote a safe and fun night out for young people.

Dance Categories:

Solo, duo, and crew categories 
Three divisions: junior, intermediate and Advanced. 

Judging
A panel of experienced judges will evaluate performances based on technique, creativity, stage presence, musicality, and overall impact. Judges will score each category fairly and provide general feedback during the awards ceremony.

Great prizes to be won across all three divisions, including a crowd favourite award!

DJ playing throughout the night, with chill-out space for young people to hang between performances.
