All set for playtime at revitalised Blackwood Drive Reserve

Melton South residents can enjoy more opportunities for play, sport and socialising following the completion of recent upgrades to Blackwood Drive Recreation Reserve.
City of Melton Mayor, Cr Steve Abboushi was joined by State Member for Melton, Steve McGhie MP, and fellow Councillors last week to officially open the revitalised park.
Improvements include upgraded play equipment catering to a wide range of ages and abilities, improved kick-about areas, new and upgraded footpaths, picnic and barbecue facilities and new natural canopy cover to provide more shade.
Outdoor exercise equipment pods have been introduced to help support healthy, active lifestyles, and new half courts are already proving to be a big hit with bigger kids. A rock-climbing unit has also been installed to help the local Scout’s obtain their relevant badge without travelling too far.
Council contributed $500,000 towards the project, with the Victorian Government also contributing $500,000 through its Growing Suburbs Fund.
