FAQs

How will the upgrade improve safety and traffic flow?

The construction of the roundabout will reduce the speed of traffic as road users enter the intersection, decreasing the likelihood of accidents and increasing safety.

Why is Council not installing traffic lights?

Traffic assessments have found that a roundabout is the best solution for this location for the required traffic volumes and to maintain traffic flow.

How long will construction take?

It is expected that it will take three weeks to complete the works, with some additional short-term works continuing without interruptions to traffic following that.

Will there be any disruptions to traffic?

When the intersection of Boundary Road and Troups Road South/Davis Road is closed there will be a detour route via Dohertys Road, Hopkins Road and Mount Cottrell Road, however, there are additional roads available to avoid the intersection. We encourage commuters to plan ahead.

When will the works occur?

Works will be conducted from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, in addition there may be Saturday or night works to complete certain stages of the works.

Will there be noise and dust?

Disruptions will include noise, dust and trucks entering and exiting the site.

What about the rest of Boundary Road?

Council will be upgrading Boundary Road between The Mall and Mt Atkinson Road to improve safety, drainage, and road quality for all users. The project is scheduled to commence late 2026.

  • Upgrading Boundary Road to a sealed two-lane rural-standard road
  • Rebuilding sections of the road pavement to make the surface more durable
  • Installing sealed shoulders to reduce edge drop-offs and improve safety
  • Improving drainage and water flow along the road and near Dry Creek
  • New driveway crossings, signage (including kangaroo warning signage) and line-marking
