Remembrance Day Service (Woodlea)
Next date: Sunday, 02 November 2025 | 10:30 AM
The Melton RSL Sub-Branch & the Caroline Springs RSL Sub-Branch invites all members of the community to attend our annual Woodlea Remembrance Day Service on Sunday 02 November 2025, at the Woodlea Remembrance Walk.
Each year, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause in solemn reflection to honour the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. This national observance marks the signing of the Armistice that ended the First World War and commemorates all Australian service personnel who have died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
The service will commence promptly and will include the traditional observance of one minute’s silence, wreath laying, readings, and the sounding of the Last Post. Members of the veteran community and local organisations will participate in the formal proceedings.
Professional attire is requested. Men are encouraged to wear a suit and tie if able, with equivalent formal wear for women.
Veterans are encouraged to wear their full-sized medals on the left breast. Relatives of veterans are welcome to wear their family member’s medals on the right breast, in accordance with official protocol, to signify that the medals are not their own. Members of the public are encouraged to wear a red poppy in remembrance.
We encourage the Melton, Rockbank & Caroline Springs community to stand with us in honouring the memory of those who served and sacrificed. Your presence is a meaningful tribute and a valued gesture of support to our veteran community.
Lest We Forget.
Further information
The Woodlea Remembrance Day Service is held one week prior to Remembrance Day and is jointly organised by the Melton and Caroline Springs RSL Sub-Branches. This arrangement ensures that residents of Woodlea and Rockbank—neither of which has its own RSL Sub-Branch—are still able to formally commemorate the occasion. Both Melton and Caroline Springs conduct their own Remembrance Day services in their respective town centres on 11 November. By holding the Woodlea service earlier, local residents have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful commemoration without conflicting with the main services on Remembrance Day.
