Nominations are open for the 2026 Community Volunteer Achievement Awards, Melton City Council’s annual celebration of locals who make our City vibrant, welcoming, and connected.

The awards recognise volunteers who inspire pride, strengthen community spirit, and contribute to a more inclusive and supportive community.

Residents can be nominated across five award categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Disability Access and Inclusion Leader of the Year
  • Gender Equity Leader of the Year
  • Intercultural Engagement Leader of the Year

Nominations close Saturday 28 February 2026, with winners to be announced in May during National Volunteer Week.

If you know someone who goes above and beyond for others, brings people together, or lifts community spirit, you can nominate them by visiting 2026 Community Volunteer Achievement Awards.

Quotes attributable to City of Melton Mayor Cr Lara Carli:

“Whether it’s someone who encourages community participation, breaks down barriers, or simply shows up for others, nominating them as part of the Community Volunteer Achievement Awards is a meaningful way to say thank you.”

“These awards recognise volunteers who inspire pride and help build a stronger, more inclusive community.”

“It might be a volunteer at your local club, a neighbour who always lends a hand, or someone who quietly makes a big difference behind the scenes.”

“Over the years, these awards have celebrated teachers, community leaders, sportspeople, and so many others who make a real difference in our City.”
