West Melton Recreation Reserve

West Melton Recreation Reserve offers a great mix of organised sport and family fun.

Melton City Council will upgrade the play space at West Melton Recreation Reserve. This will include a new sheltered picnic space, new play space with accessible equipment, improvements to the footpath network and new trees and shrubs.

Works will commence early May 2026 and are expected to be completed by mid-2026.

To ensure the safety of the local community and workers on-site, we will need to close the reserve area adjacent to James Cook Drive, including the existing footpaths and the existing playground within the reserve.

Two new tennis courts and one multi sports are now available at the reserve. You'll also find new benches, fencing, lighting and footpaths for better access to the clubhouse and courts. Note, that new turf will be laid in April 2026, after the summer period has finished.

The tennis courts are well used by the local community, supported by a pavilion for local clubs and events.

Away from the courts, the playground is a highlight, featuring a wave slide, climbing wall and more. It’s a relaxed, open space where sport and everyday recreation come together.
