Temporary road closure for construction of new roundabout in Truganina
Published on 16 December 2025
Melton City Council is installing a new roundabout at the intersection of Boundary Road and Troups Road South/Davis Road in Truganina to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for road users.
The intersection will be temporarily closed during the January school holidays to safely allow for construction.
The closure will take place from Monday 5 January 2026, with the intersection reopening in time for the start of the school term on Wednesday 28 January 2026 (subject to weather conditions).
The new roundabout is designed to improve safety by reducing vehicle speeds at the intersection, lowering the risk of accidents and enhancing traffic flow.
Key features of the project include:
- Construction of a new roundabout at the intersection
- Raised platforms at all entrances, line marking, new signage and safety barriers
- Public lighting to improve visibility and safety
- A new speed limit of 60 km/h at the roundabout
A detour route will be in place via Dohertys Road, Hopkins Road, Greigs Road and Mount Cottrell Road. Additional roads are available to avoid the intersection, and road users are encouraged to plan their trip in advance.
