Growth Corridor Plans

The Growth Corridor Plans set the long term direction for how land in Melbourne’s growth areas will be used and developed. They help ensure that as new suburbs grow, they have the right mix of housing, local jobs, transport options, parks, schools and community facilities.

Developed and completed over 18 months, the Growth Corridor Plans provide a clear long term strategy over the next 30 to 40 years, to help shape new suburbs.

Growth Corridor Plans for the City of Melton

The Sunbury Growth Corridor Plan
This plan guides future development for the township of Sunbury (in the City of Hume) and the township of Diggers Rest, which lies within the City of Melton

The West Growth Corridor Plan
This plan covers land within both the City of Wyndham and the City of Melton, including areas located between Caroline Springs and the Melton Township.

These Growth Corridor Plans replace the former Growth Area Framework Plans (2006).
