New life for local parks in Taylors Hill and Burnside

Two reserves in Taylors Hill and Burnside have been revitalised, transforming them into vibrant recreational spaces for the community to enjoy.

Barwon Street Reserve in Taylors Hill and Earlington Square Reserve in Burnside, recently received upgrades with official openings held at both reserves last Friday.

The Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP, State Member for Sydenham, was on hand to open the Barwon Street Reserve, alongside City of Melton Mayor Cr Steve Abboushi and fellow Councillors.

The reserve has been transformed into a space that strengthens connections to nature, with improvements to play and kick-about spaces, shared path connections, upgraded picnic facilities, and additional natural shade.

The $500,000 project was jointly funded by Melton City Council and the Victorian Governments Growing Suburbs Fund.

State Member for Kororoit, Luba Grigorovitch MP, and Mayor Abboushi officially unveiled the revitalised Earlington Square Reserve which has been transformed into a welcoming, inclusive space designed to include play opportunities for everyone in the community.

Upgrades include enhancements to shared paths, additional activity areas, refurbishment of the existing basketball court, improvements to picnic facilities and play spaces, new nature play elements, and additional tree planting to provide more natural shade and greenery.

The $900,000 project was jointly funded by Melton City Council and the Victorian Governments Growing Suburbs Fund.
