Children have the right to feel safe, Melton City Council has zero tolerance for child abuse and will investigate and escalate incidences appropriately.
We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. If you have concerns about a child’s safety or suspect abuse, it's important to act.
How to Report Child Safety Concern
If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
If a child is at risk of significant harm as a result of abuse or neglect contact Child Protection Services:
- West division: 1300 360 462 (business hours: 8:45am-5:00pm)
- State wide after hours service: 13 12 78

If your child safe concern relates to the conduct of our staff, volunteers or services, you can report it directly to us.

Information Sharing:
Under the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) authorised professionals and organisations are permitted to share relevant information to promote the wellbeing or safety of children, or to prevent or respond to family violence.
We comply with these legal obligations and work with authorised agencies to ensure risks to children are identified and managed appropriately. Your privacy is respected, and information is only shared when necessary and lawful.
