Sexual and reproductive health
Melton City Council is involved in Action for Equity, a regional plan to address sexual and reproductive health in Melbourne’s west.
As part of this project, Council has been involved in a Condom Vending Machine trial. The aim of the project is to increase access to condoms for at-risk groups, and subsequently reduce sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unwanted pregnancies.
Six condom vending machines have been installed in three locations, including Hannah Watts Park, Melton Library and Learning Hub, and Caroline Springs Leisure Centre.
The findings of the pilot project are available in the Evaluation Report
