Advertising Signage Design Guidelines

The City of Melton Advertising Signage Design Guidelines(DOCX, 968KB) were adopted by Council on 18 September 2017.

The Guidelines apply to all planning permit applications for advertising signage within our municipality.

Advertising signs play an important role in identifying and promoting businesses, institutions and buildings.  They also contribute to the look and feel of our streets and public spaces.

Well designed and appropriately located signage can add colour, interest and vibrancy to an area.  However, excessive or poorly designed signage can detract from the appearance and amenity of both urban and rural environments, including key gateways into our City.

The Guidelines provide direction on the design, location and size of advertising signage.  They are used by Council's Planning Department when assessing planning permit applications.
