Lake Caroline Reserve

Announcement

We are removing five jetties on Lake Caroline, near the intersection of The Esplanade and Boathouse Drive, due to their state of disrepair.

Works will commence on Monday 23 March and be complete by Friday 8 May 2026.

The area will be fenced off for community safety and the lake will need to be partially drained to gain access to the piers, this part of the work should take one to two days.

Lake Caroline is a place where family and friends can come together, exercise, or sit and watch the array of birdlife that call the lake home. With a perimeter of around 1.9 kilometres, and featuring a pathway all the way around, Lake Caroline is the perfect place to walk the dog, ride a bike, or take a stroll and enjoy some fresh air.

The perimeter has three distinct areas, exercise equipment at Lake Caroline Waterfront, play equipment and exercise equipment at Boathouse Reserve and play equipment at Lake Caroline Reserve.

Lake Caroline Reserve includes picnic facilities with a BBQ along with park benches, seats and tables. A drinking fountain and bins are available for convenience. The spacious green areas make it a comfortable place for family gatherings and relaxed outdoor time.

Council has recently completed the Lake Caroline Masterplan and Activation Strategy. This document will guide the development of the Lake Caroline Reserve with the long-term aim to transform the Lake Caroline area into a vibrant and inviting community space. The strategy was informed by extensive community and stakeholder consultation. Council adopted the final Lake Caroline Masterplan and Activation Strategy on the on the 24 June 2024.
