Footpath construction along Sugar Gum Drive and Boronia Drive was completed in July 2026, delivering a new kerb-separated shared path that enhances pedestrian safety while complementing the area's rural character.
The project provided an important pedestrian connection through the Sugar Gum Estate, improving access to the Boronia Drive Reserve and the surrounding shared path network.
The new kerb-separated path offers greater protection for pedestrians by increasing separation from traffic, while traffic calming measures, improved line marking, speed reduction to 40kmh and reduced lane widths encourage lower vehicle speeds and enhance overall road safety for all road users.
