We understand that some people in our community are facing financial hardship, and we can support you with payment plans, payment deferrals, and waivers of penalty interest.
The following options are available to assist ratepayers with paying their rates accounts.
If you're experiencing financial hardship and can repay your overdue rates within two years, contact our Revenue team at revenue@melton.vic.gov.au to arrange a weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment plan. No supporting documents are required.
If you're experiencing financial hardship and are unable to pay your overdue rates within two years, you can apply for a hardship payment plan with reduced weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayments.
To apply, complete the Financial Hardship Application Form and provide supporting evidence. You will receive an acknowledgement email once submitted. A decision will be made within 10 business days of a complete application. Where evidence is missing, we will contact the applicant within 3 business days.
In cases of severe financial hardship, we may also consider a short-term deferral of your rates.
