Lights on at Sporting ReservesTo help you keep active during the colder months, we are turning on the lights at Aintree Recreation Reserve Oval 2 for free between April and October 2026.This initiative is aimed at increasing access to our sporting reserves and encouraging opportunities for residents to be active, even though it’s dark.Monday & Tuesday: 6.30pm to 8.30pmNo bookings required.
Aintree Recreation Reserve is a major multi-use community hub supporting sport, recreation, and family activities. The reserve features sporting facilities including tennis courts, netball, basketball, cricket nets, sports fields and a skate park, alongside a pavilion, toilets, car parking and seating. Families can also enjoy play equipment, picnic areas, shelters and a water play space. Shared paths and bike facilities connect the reserve, making it a vibrant and active destination for the community.
This Recreation Reserve is used by Aintree Football Club and Aintree Cricket Club.
This local reserve has two natural grass ovals, cricket practice nets, a sports pavilion/community room, eight tennis courts, a tennis social space and two multipurpose courts.
Frontier Park is located within this reserve and Frontier Park Pavilion community space and kitchen is available for hire.
