Atherstone Traffic School

Traffic school

Melton City Council, in partnership with LendLease, have completed the construction of a road safety education facility, known as the Atherstone Traffic School.

The facility provides a fun and engaging space to develop important road safety skills and gain confidence on bicycles, tricycles and scooters.

Conveniently located next to Bridge Road Children’s and Community Centre, the Atherstone Traffic School consists of a variety intersections and signage to mimic the features of a real traffic experience within a more controlled environment. There are public barbeques and toilet facilities on site.

Users are required to bring their own bicycle, tricycle or scooter and helmet.

There is an accessible toilet at the Atherstone Traffic School and a social story(PDF, 13MB) is available.

There is a Communication Access Sign at Atherstone Traffic School. This sign can be used to support communication. It can help people to understand and share information about their experiences. Use this sign to:

  • make requests such as “I want to ride my bicycle”
  • ask questions like “where is the toilet?”
  • express needs such as “I need a drink”
  • comment on activities and share the fun!
