McDonald Street Reserve currently provides an inviting stretch of nature among the homes in residential Melton South, perfect for a relaxing walk or informal sports. The simple green space makes it easy for families to enjoy casual outdoor time close to home.
Council is creating a new play space at McDonald Street Recreation Reserve, scheduled for completion in 2027.
The upgrade aims to allow for the increased demand for social, recreational and play opportunities at the reserve. The provision of play equipment in this reserve will provide opportunity for informal recreation and play to meet the local community needs.

Developments will elevate the reserve to meet future recreational needs in the area. It will accommodate the community as the surrounding neighbourhood continues to grow.
Design and planning are being led by us in partnership with JF Studio Pty Ltd to ensure the play space is cohesive, well-designed and tailored to the needs of the community.
Melton City Council is funding this project.
JF Studio Pty Ltd have completed the detailed design for the project. Melton City Council are also in the final phases of procuring a preferred Head Contractor for the works and looking to commence the project late May to early June.
