Free green waste disposal for residents

Melton City Council is encouraging all property owners and renters to prepare for the upcoming fire season by tidying up their properties.
To support this effort, Council is offering free green waste disposal for City of Melton residents at the Melton Recycling Facility from 13 November 2025 to 12 January 2026.
Residents wishing to use this service must present valid identification and proof of residency upon arrival.
Please note:
- Mixed loads are not permitted (green garden waste only)
- Limbs and branches must be smaller than 30cm in diameter
- Contaminated or noxious garden waste will be charged as mixed waste
- Commercial operators and trucks are not eligible
The Melton Recycling Facility is open seven days a week from 8am to 4.30pm, excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
