City of Melton welcomes 400 new citizens

Melton City Council had a memorable Australia Day in 2026, with 400 residents, from more than 50 countries, becoming Australian citizens at a special ceremony in Cobblebank.

The citizenship ceremony took place on Monday 26 January at Cobblebank Stadium, where residents from across the community took the final step in their journey to becoming Australians.

Following the ceremony, the community enjoyed a range of free, family friendly activities including a BBQ, face painting, and the chance to meet dingos and native reptiles.

In 2025, the City of Melton welcomed 4,646 new Australians to our City.
