Children's Week 2026: Celebrating Culture, Language and Belonging
Published on 13 October 2026
This Children's Week, we're celebrating every child's right to culture, language and belonging.
The City of Melton is home to a vibrant and diverse community, with 167 different languages spoken across our city. While each language is unique, they all share something special: the ability to connect us, help us feel welcome and celebrate who we are.
Children's Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. This year's theme focuses on every child's right to use their own language and celebrate their culture.
