Melton City Council will construct a new 3km shared use path on the eastern side of Westwood Drive, between Rockbank Middle Road and Robinsons Road and Quinn Street intersection.
The new shared use path will fill the missing gap in the shared path network, tying into existing shared paths at the southern and northern ends of this project.
The project will be delivered in two stages:
Stage 1: Ballarat Road to Quinn Street/ Robinsons Road, the project will construct a new shared use path on the east side of Westwood Drive, as there is no footpath Stage 2: Rockbank Middle Road to Ballarat Road, the project will widen existing path on the east side of Westwood Drive from 1.5 meters to 3 meters and construct a new 3 metre path in places.
This project received $969,527 in funding from the Australian Government through the Active Transport Fund with Melton City Council funding the balance.
Initial designs have been completed for Stage 1, and we will be seeking feedback from the community to finalise these designs with works expected to commence in 2027.
Stage 2 is expected for delivery in 2028. We will be seeking feedback from the community to finalise designs.
