Melton City Council will construct a 3-metre-wide shared use path along Vineyard Road, Diggers Rest, between Eucalyptus Circuit to Diggers Rest Coimadai Road.
The project includes widening of the existing path and constructing sections of new 3-metre-wide shared path.
This project will complete the missing active transport connections along Vineyard Road to provide greater accessibility to Diggers Rest train station, schools, sports precincts, retail and employment precincts and connect to the Sunbury area via an off-road path.
This project has been funded with an investment from the Victorian Government’s Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution Fund of $940,960 with Melton City Council funding the balance.
The project is in the design phase with construction expected to commence in 2027.
