Taylors Road Corridor Upgrade Plan
The Taylors Road corridor is a vital east-west link within the City of Melton.
This key thoroughfare currently services the established areas of Caroline Springs, Burnside Heights, and Taylors Hill, as well as rapidly expanding communities like Aintree, Bonnie Brook, Fraser Rise, and Deanside.
There are a number of projects that constitute the Taylors Road Corridor Upgrade Plan. Please see below for more details on each project.

Project: Plumpton Road and Taylors Road Intersection
Council will transform the existing T-intersection into a four-way intersection, with traffic lights.
Project schedule commenced late 2024 with expected completion by end of August 2026.

August Update
Powercor has completed its audit of the project, and the site will soon be handed over so the tie-in process to the broader electricity network can begin.
To prepare for energisation, further traffic signal works will take place from Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August 2026. Some short-term lane closures will be required outside peak travel times.
We understand the project delays have been frustrating, and we thank the community for their patience and understanding as we complete this important upgrade to Taylors Road.
Project: Duplication of Taylors Road between City Vista Court and Westwood Drive
Council will upgrade the existing roundabouts at Caroline Springs Boulevard and Westwood Drive into a four-way intersection, with traffic lights. Council will duplicate Taylors Road between City Vista Court and Westwood Drive.
The project has commenced. Melton City Council is currently tendering for the project, with construction due to commence mid-2027. At this stage, the project is expected to be completed by mid-2029.

- Installation of new traffic lights at Caroline Springs Boulevard and Westwood Drive,
- Duplication of Taylors Road, with an additional lane between Gourlay Road and City Vista Court
- Signalised pedestrian crossings
- Two additional dedicated pedestrian crossings
- New footpaths and pedestrian raised crossings
- New public lighting
- Drainage improvements
- New landscaping
Project: Sinclairs Road and Taylors Road Intersection
Council will transform the existing roundabout into a four-way intersection, with traffic lights.
Project scheduled to start mid to late 2026 with expected completion in 2027.

August Update
Night-time road closures to move gas mains
Sinclairs Road will be temporarily closed at Taylors Road between 8pm to 6am from Sunday 16 August until Thursday 20 August 2026 to relocate gas lines.
Taylors Road will be closed at Sinclairs Road from Sunday 23 August until Thursday 27 August 2026, 8pm to 6am each night to relocate gas lines.

Project: City Vista Court and Taylors Road Intersection
The intersection of Taylors Road and City Vista Court has been transformed from an existing roundabout into a four-way intersection, with traffic lights.
Key features

- New access for the estates south of Taylors Road
The new traffic lights have been switched on, and the project is now complete.
