Murphys Road and Exford Road intersection upgrade, Exford

Melton City Council is constructing new turning lanes at the intersection of Murphys Road and Exford Road to enhance safety and improve traffic flow.

Works will commence on Wednesday 29 April 2026 and are expected to be complete by 30 June (weather permitting).

The upgrade has received $397,000 in funding through the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program with the balance funded by Council.

The upgrade includes: 

  • new right turning lane from Exford Road into Murphys Road 
  • new left turn slip lane from Exford Road into Murphys Road
  • additional line marking
  • additional safety barriers

June 2026 Update

The intersection is now open with new turning and slip lanes, line marking and safety barriers in place.

Public lighting is still in progress; temporary lighting is in place until the lights are energised.
