Mt Atkinson East Recreation Reserve

Melton City Council has committed to delivery of the Mt Atkinson East Recreation Reserve.  The project involves the planning, design and construction of a new active open space precinct to service the suburb of Mt Atkinson.

Sports reserve works include the construction of: 

  • four soccer pitches overlaid with 2 synthetic wicket cricket ovals
  • two synthetic cricket nets
  • a sports pavilion including community elements
  • associated infrastructure including car parking, fencing and sportsground furniture

Additional open space infrastructure is planned to include:

  • a shelter and picnic space
  • a play space
  • a circulation path network
  • trees and other planting works

The Mt. Atkinson East Recreation Reserve is supported by the Victorian Government through the Growing Suburbs Fund.

 
  

September 2026 Update

Construction works are currently in progress, including civil works and land forming.  Design of the sports pavilion is in progress.
