Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve | Off-Lead Dog Park

Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve has been identified as a suitable site for an off-lead dog park, to meet community needs.  Council has allocated funding for the design and community consultation to construct the proposed park.     

Works include the construction/installation of: 

  • Shade trees to provide natural cooling and improve comfort
  • A shelter for shade and weather protection
  • New accessible concrete paths and connection to existing path network
  • Accessible seating and infrastructure
  • Granitic sand in high pedestrian traffic areas
  • Turf improvements in low-traffic zones
  • Rocks and logs to add visual interest
  • Drinking fountain with an integrated dog bowl
  • Clear and visible signage.
  • Informal gathering spaces with seating. 
  • Fencing to dog park boundary 

This project will be fully funded by Melton City Council.
