Cr Sophie Ramsey

Over the 30 years that Sophie Ramsey has lived in the City of Melton she has been part of many vital volunteer and community groups.

She has been a Councillor since 2001, was Mayor four times in 2002/2003, 2004/2005, 2014/2015 and 2016/2017, and was Deputy Mayor in 2013/2014.

Sophie has three beautiful daughters and was the carer for her mother and grandmother.

She feels humbled and honoured to be the longest serving Councillor in the City of Melton, having been elected on five separate occasions, and believes that the City of Melton’s community is its greatest asset.

Sophie strives to be a strong voice for the whole community so that even the most vulnerable and isolated can be heard. Her tireless advocacy is for a hospital and a tertiary and TAFE educational facility for Melton, and for more local investment into local jobs.

Her favourite pastimes when not serving on Melton City Council are listening to ‘70s and ‘80s music, watching romantic movies and spending precious time with family and friends.
