Statement from the City of Melton Mayor

Melton City Council is deeply shocked and saddened by the horrific events that took place in Bondi yesterday.

Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and everyone impacted by these events.

Thank you to the first responders who showed tremendous bravery despite also being in danger.

We condemn this senseless act of violence and stand firm in our resolve that hatred does not have a place in our society.

This is a time when we must come together, stand united and support one another.

Our flags are flying at half-mast today at the Melton Civic Centre and Caroline Springs Library and Learning Hub in recognition of the lives that have been lost.
