Community Safety Month 2026

Community Safety Month will be recognised across the City of Melton throughout October.

During the month residents are encouraged to learn new skills, access valuable information and play an active role in creating a safer community.

The annual campaign highlights the importance of community safety and reminds us that everyone has a part to play in helping make our city safe, connected and resilient.

Throughout the month, a range of free events and workshops will focus on key topics including road safety, online safety, financial wellbeing and responsible pet ownership.

Residents are invited to take part in a variety of informative sessions and activities, including

  • free child car restraint fittings
  • an Animal Ranger Services information workshop
  • an AI safety information session
  • a financial wellbeing workshop designed specifically for women

Whether you're looking to improve your knowledge, access practical resources or connect with local services, Community Safety Month offers something for everyone.

Join us this October as we work together to build a safer and stronger community.
