Deanside Children’s and Community Centre

Deanside Children's and Community Centre will provide the space needed for 3 and 4 year old kindergarten for families living in the fast-growing area. It will also include maternal and child health services and rooms that the community can use.

This new centre will help people feel connected by offering a safe and welcoming place for everyone. It will also support children’s learning, family health, and overall wellbeing by bringing together early education, Council health services, and links to other local support services.

The centre will include:

• Kindergarten rooms for 3- and 4-year-olds with a licensed outdoor play area
• Rooms for Council’s Maternal and Child Health services
• Community meeting rooms
• Car parking and landscaped outdoor areas
  
  

Funding partners

Melton City Council is funding this project, with extra funding from the Victorian State Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.
The project is also supported by the Victorian Government’s Building Blocks grants, contributing $9 million.

Construction update

Construction will start on Thursday 27 November 2025 and is expected to finish by late 2026, with an opening early 2027. We will try our best to reduce any impact on nearby properties.

All work will stay within the construction site, but there will be more truck activity, especially during excavation. There may be some noise and dust, but work will stop by 6pm on weekdays and 1pm on Saturdays.

During the first few weeks, workers will set up the site. After that, they will begin excavation, pour the concrete base, build the timber frame, and install the roof and outside walls to make the building weather-proof. The final steps will include fitting out the inside. Landscaping and car park construction will be completed near the end of the project.
