Municipal Fire Management Plan

The Melton Municipal Fire Management Plan, bush and grass fire risk has been assessed using the Victorian Fire Risk Register (VFRR). The VFRR is a systematic process that utilises the expertise and local knowledge of a range of professionals and stakeholders in identifying locations and assets at risk from bush or grass fires, then assessing the level of risk and assigning a range of treatments to manage/mitigate the risk. Stakeholders include representatives from:

  • Council
  • Country Fire Authority
  • Metropolitan Fire Brigade
  • Parks Victoria
  • Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning
  • Victoria Police
  • Melbourne Water and others.
