Community Grants
We recognise the contributions of community groups, clubs and organisations in making our City a thriving community where everyone belongs. At times, these groups seek financial support from Council to enable a better response to local needs.
We are excited to announce that a new and improved community grants program will be available from 1 January 2024.

If you are looking to be part of an Advisory Committee for Melton City Council that makes vast impact on our community, then look no further.
Expressions of interest are now open for community members to become an Assessment Panel Member for the new and improved Community Grants Program. Panel member positions are voluntary and open to all community members who would like to play a pivotal role in making our City a vibrant, safe and thriving community where everyone belongs.
Our Community Grants Program provides opportunities for not-for-profit community organisations to apply for project funding that benefit the Melton community. Through funding community led initiatives, the Program increases community participation, strengthens community health and wellbeing, develops local pride, and promotes community leadership.
The role of an Assessment Panel Member is to assess applications online via an unbiased and confidential assessment process. Panel Members will be required to prepare for and actively participate in anywhere between 2 - 4 meetings each year for a period of two years. Online assessments require 15 - 20 minutes per application and are required to be completed prior to Assessment Panel Meetings. Panel meetings will be no longer than 2 hours of duration and will be scheduled after-hours.
No previous experience required as induction and training will be provided to all new panel members. If you are feeling unsure, or would like to discuss the role in more detail, please contact Isabel Venables, Community Grants & Awards Officer on 0412 699 782.
