Environmental Grants

To celebrate World Environment Day on 5 June, Council offers annual grants up to $2,000 for new or established community organisations to deliver environmental projects or programs that have a positive impact on the local environment and/or promote environmental stewardship and sustainability.

The 2019 World Environment Day grants will be open for one month from 1 to 31 March 2019. The application process is now completely online via our SmartyGrants website. For more information on how to use SmartyGrants and tips for applying for grants, please visit the Community Grants page.

In 2018 the six successful groups received grants for the following projects:

  • Eynesbury Environment Group - Eye Spy in Eynesbury project
  • Friends of Toolern Creek - Platypus Festival project
  • Melton Environment Group - Bird Week project
  • Australian Dingo Foundation Inc - Portable gazebo for event displays
  • Utsav Malayalee Samaj - Trees of Life project
  • Djerriwarrh Health Services - Birds of a Feather project
