Our programs are free however bookings are required for all programs for everyone over 12 months old.

Event safety

Your safety is important to us. To keep yourself and our community safe the following CovidSafe rules apply to our programs:

  • Bookings are now required including for parents, guardians and other siblings over the age of 12 months joining in
  • Do not attend the  program if you or children in your care have been unwell/have been in close contact with someone unwell/waiting for results of a Coronavirus test.
  • Social distancing must be maintained 
  • Where possible please only have one adult attending for children's programs
  • Spaces are limited - we ask you please limit your family's booking to one per week 
  • Limited numbers of people can be booked into each event, please cancel your booking if you can no longer attend so another person can join in. Email: librarybookings@melton.vic.gov.au or call 9747 5300
  • Early Years programs will open up for bookings on Friday afternoons the week prior.

Face-to-face programs will not run until further notice. Many of our programs are continuing online.

GET WRITING

Do you have an inner writer that needs to be set free? The creative writing group will provide a safe and inspiring environment to encourage you to write.

LAST THURSDAY BOOK CLUB

If you love reading, would like to meet new people and need some “me” time, our book clubs are perfect for you. Take a hand selected book home one month, then come in the next month to chat about it with the group.

Early Years

BABY BOUNCE

Ages 0-12 months Baby Bounce is an interactive program that introduces your baby to the sounds, rhythm and movement of language. Babies love songs and rhymes and delight in watching and listening to you sing. Sharing a love of reading, rhymes, singing and talking with your baby is one of the best things you can do to give your baby a head start in life and at school.

TODDLER TIME

Ages 1-3 years Toddler time has been specifically designed to engage toddlers in all areas of childhood development through singing, stories, movement, literacy, language and play. Toddlers have many opportunities to participate or be an active listener throughout the program in a safe, positive and inclusive environment.

STORYTIME

Ages 3-5 years Preschool-aged kids are curious about everything. Storytime is a great way to introduce children to the wonderful world of books. Sessions include stories, songs, rhymes and an introduction to AUSLAN. All programs are designed for parents to participate with their children.

LET’S PLAY BRIDGE

These sessions are run by the Melton Bridge Club to encourage people who may have learned or played Bridge in the past, have stopped playing and would like to pick up this great card game again. All welcome, materials provided.

Girl Chat is a platform for girls to build confidence and leadership skills whilst networking via peer-to peer mentoring. Girls will gain practical experience to plan and run weekly meetings. Ages 14-25.
