Carols by Candlelight 2023 - Event Cancelled

6.00pm to 9.00pm:    Face painting, craft activities and Becky Bubbles
6.00pm to 9.30pm:    Food trucks
6.30pm to 9.30pm:    Stage Entertainment

Parking for the general public is at Police Paddock.

The public can park anywhere near the event site as long as they follow road regulations and don’t block residential or business driveways.

We encourage people to use public transport where possible.

Buses are running on normal Saturday timetables.

There will be no road closures, however the slip lane in front of the Civic Centre will not be accessible to the general public.

The Hannah Watts Carparks will be opened only to those with accessible parking permits.

Yes, additional toilets including accessible toilets will be onsite for the duration of the event.

Toilet locations will be clearly marked on site.

There will be no allocated breastfeeding location. This is a breastfeeding friendly event, however breastfeeding parents are welcome to head to the Chill Out Zone if they wish to sit in a quieter space.

Yes, friendly pooches on a leash are always welcome at Hannah Watts Park.

Yes, you are permitted to bring your own food and beverages (no alcohol). It is also recommended that you bring your own chairs and picnic rugs.

No, there will be no ATMs on site. 

A Council photographer will be taking some happy snaps on the day!  We’ll share these on our social media and websites.  If you’re a bit camera shy and don’t want your photo taken, just let our photographer and/or event staff know on the day.

No.  Carols by Candlelight is an alcohol-free event.  Security and Victoria Police will be in attendance.  Any alcohol discovered will be confiscated.

Entry to the event
Footpaths are available surrounding Hannah Watts Park and most entry points are accessible from a footpath.

Access throughout the event
Due to the nature of these spaces, footpaths are not available throughout the event site but most of the park is a flat, grassed surface.

Facilities
Accessible toilets will be available onsite. Locations will be listed on this website closer to the event.

Guide Dogs & Service Animals
Trained guide dogs and assistance animals are welcome at Hannah Watts Park.

Parking
Accessible parking is available within the first Hannah Watts Park carpark. Vehicles displaying their Accessible Parking Permit will be allowed entry.

Stairs
There are no stairs throughout Hannah Watts Park. 

Sensory-Friendly Chill Out Zone
There is a lot happening at this event, and sometimes it can all be a little bit too exciting and we may need a minute or two to step away and chill out.

That's where our Sensory-Friendly Chill Out Zone comes in, away from the noise and accessible for all, it’s the perfect place for a little rest amongst all the action.

This space will be supervised by a member of Melton City Council Families & Children team. The location will be listed on this website closer to the event.

Social Story
