Australia Day 2020

To be held at The Willows Historical Park our annual Australia Day celebrations will feature live entertainment followed by a formal flag raising ceremony, Welcome to Country, recognition of the 2020 Community Achievement Awards winners, an address from the City of Melton Australia Day Ambassador, and concluding with the citizenship ceremony.

Activities include:

  • live entertainment by Sonica
  • free BBQ, coffee and ANZAC biscuits
  • dingoes, reptiles and face painting
  • Bunnings and Melton Men’s Shed kids’ activities


2020 Community Achievement Awards

Each year, Melton City Council proudly salutes, through the Community Achievement Awards, members of the community whose work and efforts make this region an even better place to live.

For 2020 Community Achievement Awards we had five categories, Intercultural Leader of the Year, Gender Equality Leader of the Year, Access and Inclusion Leader of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Citizen of the Year. 

The Winners for each category were chosen in November and will be our special guests for 2020 Australia Day.  Join us to congratulate the winners:

  • Citizen of the Year: Jarrod Hynes
  • Young Citizen of the Year: Chloe Wright
  • Access and Inclusion Leader of the Year: Emily Attard
  • Gender Equity Leader of the Year: Kelly Busuttil
  • Intercultural Leader of the Year: Yvette Medina
