Waves unveils Changing Places facility

Published on 25 October 2018

Melton City Council has officially unveiled its second Changing Places accessible change room facility at Melton Waves Leisure Centre.

The Changing Places facility is specifically designed for people with a disability who cannot use standard, accessible toilets.

It includes an adult-sized, adjustable changing table; a ceiling hoist; toilet; and sufficient space for two carers to support the person using the facility.

The facility is not only available to visitors of Melton Waves; it is also provided to anyone living in, or visiting, the City of Melton who requires access to a change table and hoist, without the cost of entry being charged.

It is available seven days a week, during Waves extensive operating hours.

The second Changing Places facility is at Melton Library and Learning Hub, however, this change room is unavailable until mid-December while the library lift is upgraded.
