Melton City Council is aware that a student at Parkwood Green Primary School in Hillside has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Parkwood Green Primary School will be closed to all students, staff and members of the community from Tuesday 30 June for three days initially to allow time for the school and DHHS to undertake a full risk assessment and advise on cleaning requirements.

The Parkwood Green Community Centre (88 Catherine Drive, Hillside) is a separate building located next to the primary school site. The Parkwood Green Community Centre operates kindergarten, and Maternal and Child Health services. The Parkwood Green Community Centre is not required to close.

The Kindergarten provider is advising families of the current situation and that services will continue as normal for term three. Council operates Maternal and Child Health Services and is contacting families to inform them of the situation. Parkwood Green Community Centre will continue to operate within the strict guidelines of the Department of Health and Human Services to ensure the safety of all staff and children.

Users of this facility can be assured that if there are any changes to the current advice, Council will be in contact with families accordingly.
