Melton City Council has welcomed new Coburn Ward Councillor Yvonne Desiree Sebire.

Cr Sebire was sworn in on Friday 14 June at the Melton Civic Centre.

The Victorian Electoral Commission declared her the elected candidate on Wednesday 12 June following a countback of votes from the 2016 general election.

Cr Sebire replaces former Councillor Melissa De Santis who resigned on 9 May for personal reasons.

Melton Mayor Cr Bob Turner said the Council welcomed its newest Councillor.

“We are pleased that Cr Sebire has accepted the opportunity to represent the community,” Cr Turner said.

“I look forward to working with Cr Sebire and I welcome the ideas and passion I’m sure she’ll bring to this important role.”
