Creative, sporty and adventurous kids – more holiday fun awaits!

Published on 09 January 2020

Summer school holiday fun continues in the City of Melton with an exciting program of dance workshops, art classes, sports activities and a family picnic day on throughout January.

All low cost or free, Melton City Council has planned the activities to cater for a range of age groups from three to 16 years old.

Learn dance routines in the Dance Grooves, Hip Hop or Bird Dance classes and come along to our Kids’ Disco. You can even create an abstract masterpiece in the Fluid Art Workshop or draw Manga sea creatures in the Japanese Cartooning Workshop.

If launching a water rocket sounds like fun, then join us in Mad Science for Kids, or if you’d like to learn about bird behaviours and make a nest, there’s an event for that too!

For those who love the outdoors, bring a picnic to the beautiful Botanica Springs grounds for the Loving Summer Family Picnic, or join us at The Willows stunning historic setting for a day full of outdoor family activities and sports. There’s also the Multi Sports Day Fun for indoor and outdoor games.

City of Melton Mayor Cr Lara Carli said kids had the opportunity to explore new skills through the activities and make some fun summer memories.

“The holidays are a time for having fun and making memories and I hope local kids will take the opportunity to learn something exciting and new, make new friends, and spend quality time with the whole family,” Cr Carli said.

“Kids will have impressive new dance moves, artistic flair, and awesome stories about sports games and rockets to take back to the classroom!"
