Melton Health & Community Services Centre opening

The new Melton Health & Community Services Centre was officially opened by Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos today.
The $21 million centre will see valuable services delivered to the City of Melton community by Djerriwarrh Health Services in partnership with Cohealth, Odyssey House Victoria, MacKillop Family Services and Melbourne Mid-West Area Mental Health Services.
Families can access women’s health services, children’s health services and family services. Aboriginal health services, chronic disease intervention and prevention, and mental health. Drug and alcohol support are also available.
The facility features consulting rooms, group rooms, a gym, training and assessment kitchen, as well as staff areas and a mental health tribunal room.
Melton City Council contributed $400,000 towards the development.
Minister Mikakos re-confirmed the State Government's commitment of $2.3M to begin planning for a new hospital in the City of Melton.
