Cr Lara Carli elected City of Melton Mayor

Councillor Lara Carli was elected City of Melton Mayor for 2019/2020 and Cr Steve Abboushi was elected Deputy Mayor at a statutory meeting on Thursday 31 October.

Cr Carli will represent Melton City Council at community events and advocate on behalf of Council and residents.

Cr Carli said she was eager to embark on her responsibilities as Mayor.

“I’m grateful to have the privilege of leading this strong and committed team with clear direction and vison,” Cr Carli said.

“The next 12 months will be an exciting time filled with opportunity and challenges as we continue to advocate for the needs of our rapidly growing community.

“I look forward to meeting more residents and playing a greater role in ensuring Council can deliver the projects that are most important to the community.”

Cr Carli thanked former Mayor Cr Bob Turner for his hard work and commitment over the past two years.

Cr Carli was first elected to Council in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. She served as Deputy Mayor for the past 12 months.
