Councillor Bob has been re-elected City of Melton Mayor for 2019, after a successful 2018 year.

Cr Lara Carli has been elected Deputy Mayor.

Cr Turner and Cr Carli will work to lead Councillors, and represent Melton Council at community events, while also advocating on their behalf.

Cr Turner said the next 12 months would be a challenging and rewarding experience, especially as advocacy efforts are ramped up ahead of the 24 November State election, and the 2019 Federal election.

“The next 12 months will be an exciting time for the City, and I am proud to be able to represent our residents as we continue to push for better roads, transport, schools and health services,” he said.

“I look forward to meeting so many more of our wonderful locals, while leading Council in achieving the aspirations of the community.”

Cr Turner also thanked former Deputy Mayor Ken Hardy for his hard work and service over the past 12 months.

Cr Turner was first elected to Council in 2008 and re-elected in 2012 and 2016. He served as Deputy Mayor in 2012/2013 and 2016/2017, and as Mayor in 2013/2014, and 2017/2018.
