A $2 million Victorian Government investment announced this week will help Melton City Council deliver a vital infrastructure project to its fast-growing community.
On Wednesday, Minister for the Suburbs Sonya Kilkenny announced funding for a new open space precinct in Aintree along Aintree Boulevard, with an all-abilities place space, off-lead dog park, community sports pavilion fitness trail, soccer fields and skate park.
Funding was allocated under the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.
The project will be delivered in partnership by Melton City Council, the Victorian Government and developer, Woodlea.
Early delivery of community infrastructure in growth suburbs boosts liveability, social connection, wellbeing and plays an important role in supporting the City of Melton’s economy.
Melton City Council has been successful in many rounds of the Growing Suburbs Fund since its inception in 2015.
The fund is designed to help growing communities, like the City of Melton, respond to the pressures of rapid expansion.
